A 17 year old young man has had various difficulties with access to toileting facilities at school. Not least the attitudes of teachers who found it irritating that he could not control his need to go to times that suited. Makeshift solutions have included the use of a "bottle" in empty classrooms for emergencies - and overcoming shyness at being supported by female auxiliaries.
A six year old without a diagnosis is incontinent and school staff refuse to change him. The child either has to put up with soiling himself or wearing toilet pants and sitting in the mess all day.
for Scotland's Disabled Children is appalled at the range and extent of toilet and changing related issues affecting disabled children and young people's school experience.
