The end of the Ocupational Therapy Road

I thought I'd update you about our occupational therapy application for some financial help towards an adapted shower for Gaelle (power shower). (see previous blogs).

After months of waiting, providing further information, pestering our dermatologist for a support letter, getting back to the OT, providing even more info, pestering the dermato again for more details, etc... I got a phone call last week saying: 'we can't do anything for you,  we don't fix 'not ideal situations', only medical and care emergencies'. So that's it, it is the end of the road for some help from them. My mother said she would help us to get that shower for Gaelle anyway at the week-end. Thanks, mum! She gets it, she understands the need, as opposed the teams of experts supposed to improve the rights of disabled people and work towards a fairer society. Oh well.

At least, they can get us a plastic seat for the bath!! (true story). Something is telling me that they didn't quite get my case...
