The school called this morning, not that long after our little award ceremony with the school secretary, to say that Gaelle was asking to go to the toilets every ten minutes (which is not like her at all). Oh dear... That sounds like a urine infection a lot to me! So I literally ran to the Health Centre to pick up a sample bottle (along with some bandages I ordered a couple of days ago but they had 'lost' the prescription so I had to re-order, argh!).

I picked the kids up at lunch time, collected a urine sample, ran back to the Health Centre to make the 1pm deadline for lab samples, leaving the kids with John and came back to cream Gaelle. The state of her skin didn't leave any doubt: something wrong is going on. Here is what her legs look like this afternoon:

I emailed these photos to my GP straight away (thank go for the modern technologies!!!), asking for his advice and possibly an emergency prescription. I hope he will react quickly so that I can pick up the potential medicines in time for the week-end. I didn't think Gaelle would get another infection so soon after the last one (mid-July), but hey, life is full of surprises...

Well, my GP replied that the infection is not obvious (even though I sent very similar pictures last month and he prescribed some anti-biotics right away) and to let him know if the skin is wheepy or if Gaelle is feverish, whihc she isn't. In regards to the urine tests, he assured me the results should be back by Tuesday next week!!! 

I don't know what to think, I guess her dad will just have to keep an eye on her over the week-end at his house and wait for those results.

Frustrating (and confusing).
