Kaz's blog
Hi I am Kaz I have decided to start keeping a blog. I wanted to share some experiences but also have somewhere to write down thoughts and things that are going on. I am not sure if my posts will have themes or issues running through them yet but getting things down seems to be a good starting point so here goes nothing.
I am 24 and live in Edinburgh, Scotland. I have Cerebral Palsy and use a wheelchair. I have been living in my own flat for a few years now. I spend most of my time volunteering, playing sports and listening to music.
I currently run a project called Different Shot it is a photography project looking at what the world is like when you having a disability, basically it’s me and three other young people, wanting to share experiences and try something new but also show the world life from our perceptions and have a laugh at the same time. We have our images and we are about to have our first exhibition at the end of November, so we are all really excited about that.

Fencing Fun

Happy New Year everyone- a wee update
As for the canine partners, application, I had my home visit from occupational therapy and it seemed to go ok, that is to say they are happy that I will be able to cope at home looking after the dog and with some support I should do great.

Well, I am just back from assessment - was amazing, worked with lots of dogs and did some tasks for the dog to get used to my view and pick things off the floor, walking next to my chair and walking through small spaces. Also did some exercise to see that I’d be fit enough to give the dog outdoor activity it needs.

I am sitting in the room or somewhere I have never been before, and I am not going to lie that nerves have kicked in. Keep thinking the people will say no but then the logical part of my brains shouts but why would they invite you all the way down here.
