Hi Everyone, Jeezo it's been a while hasn't it?  Hope you are all ok?  I always feel when I find the time to do my blog I always have to re-introuduce myself again!  But I have so much to Blog about and to share I just want to get started............

Ok, so the end of my last blog was explaining about why and how I started my campaigning.  And about how we would need adaptations done to our house for Katie to have some quality of life but as we were homeowners we would not be entitled to any funding/help from our local authority - which im sure for many of you out there reading this you are sadly experiencing the same brick walls.  This blog is how the fight begins..........................

As I said loads has happend to us since February and I am going to individually blog about each experience but just to give you a wee taster we were offered a house in March (a council house), Derek was made redundant from his job, We were invited along as a family to meet Princess Anne and Holly was asked if she would present the Princess with a Posy :)  We then had a visit from The First Minister Alex Salmond just before the election, he came to our house to listen and see first hand the impact and reality as a life as a carer, we then had a family holiday and took the girls to Florida (which was the worst experience we have had to endure, and it has put Katie off going anywhere :( ) Myself and other Carers were taken to Parliament during Carer's Week with Lynn Williams policy officer for The Princess Royal Trust for Carer's, we were in the chamber for First Minister's questions and then we were all taken down to the lobby where we met First Minister, Minister's and MSP's,  We also had the Scottish leader of the liberal democrats shadow us for 24hours to also see first hand the reality and how hard life really is for us Carers and parent carers! So it's been busy busy busy.............. The Blogs may not be in the order that the events happend in but I shall do my best to make sure I get them all done and not to leave anything out!
