Just A Wee Update

Thought I'd give you a wee update on what we three are up to. Health wise I am all healed from my op that I had in January. My iron count is still quite low so I am still taking the yucky tablets. It's been six weeks since I have had to stop eating carbohydrates because I don't convert them, but I must addmit that I do feel better and have lost about a stone. There has been some changes with the boys around the house, though I need to still be boss around here LOL.

Connor has had an interview at James Watt College to do Buisness and Accounts. He has an conditional place. We just have to get the additional support put in place as he will need a reader scribe and a laptop. He is so excited and can't wait until he graduates from High school this  June. It's not been easy for him at school. Being Dyslexic and having Mearse Irlin Syndrome has been a huge struggle for him. Also having to deal with his stomach issues and pain on a daily basis. Last year he was diagnosed with Absence seizures which took a while to sort out. His ADHD was just diagnosed at the beginning of this year, so the school didn't even pick any of them up. Most of this is all part of having Noonan Syndrome. I've never been happy with his High School as there was always something that I had to moan about and chase them up on. They wouldn't even give Connor credit where it was due. In a way I am glad that he will be moving onto a new chapter in his life. No more IEP meetings or phone calls to say that they were sending Connor home because he wasn't feeling well or that he had had an accident due to having a seizure. I suppose I could talk about his education forever but that's another story that I will keep for another time.

Lee's not so good at the moment, his mood is low and his health isn't so good either. He was at the eye clinic a few weeks ago to see about getting his eye lids lifted and they have opened an old wound up as about 4 years ago Lee had been checked for Myathenia Gravis. From that we were told that there was an abnormality with his eyes and that he should have been followed up. This was never done so now the surgery that he needs can't go ahead until the Dr finds out what the abnormality is. Lee had a blood test done to check for the antibodies responsible for this condition. We tried to get the results of the blood test and no one can give us them . Lee has tremors and weaknes down one side. Yet no one seeems to be taking responsability for what is going on with him. He is so fed up feeling so low and feeling ill all the time. Trying to motivate him to go to his Art course at James Watt sometimes is a struggle, though I know that he will at his own pace. He is hoping that the college will be having a HNC in Art this year as Art is his thing. We as usual live one day at a time. Next week Lee has an appeal for DLA. He was refused it nearly a year ago and it has taken all that time to be heard. He is a little nervous about it, so I am praying that it goes OK. Well I did say that this was just a wee update sorry if it has dragged on a bit.

I know that I haven't finished telling you all our story but I have updated Part 2.

Hi Lynda, so glad to read that Connor has been offered a place at college and hope he has a much more positive experience. Good luck with the DLA appeal. I hope you have support to attend with you all.
I'm enjoying your story. Best wishes
Jacqui
